The highly anticipated showdown between Errol Spence Jr. and Tim Tszyu is drawing ever closer. The two will meet in Australia on Saturday night (Sunday local time). Despite having been inactive for three years, the American is still a slight favorite with the bookmakers. However, in his latest comments, Spence admitted he expects a grueling and difficult fight, praising his opponent’s toughness and determination.

Speaking during Thursday’s media workout, Spence said:

“I know it’s going to be a tough, grueling fight. I know Tim is going to push me past my limits.

I’ve seen enough film on him to know that he’s going to come with everything. He looks like a strong fighter, a guy who is going to keep pressing forward, give everything he has and be relentless with punches in bunches.

It’s a war. Everything is going to be on the line… the hunger is still there. I am still willing to show that Errol Spence is still here.”

Spence also addressed those who believe his lengthy layoff could negatively affect his performance:

“I’m feeling great. I needed the time off just to let everything heal.

I wouldn’t have come back if I wasn’t feeling great. I’m here to do a job. I am going to do what I have to do. Everybody is going to get their money’s worth. They’re going to see a great fight. It’s going to be very entertaining, and everybody is going to be on the edge of their seat.”
