Ringside Report – San Bonifacio (VR)
In addition to the two main bouts we already reported on, the Gloves of Glory III event held at the PalaFerroli in San Bonifacio (VR), organized by Riccardo Bizzo’s Italian Ringside Promotion, offered its audience three other professional fights—exciting, hard-fought, and not without surprises. Here’s our ringside recap of the undercard action.
Mehmed Dedovic defeats Kushtrim Rudi by corner retirement (Round 4)
A bitter professional debut for Kushtrim Rudi, trained and closely followed last night by former pro boxer Luca Chiancone. The opening round was fairly balanced, but Dedovic’s higher work rate and greater aggressiveness already hinted that the Bosnian had an extra gear.
That impression was confirmed in the second round, as Rudi—constantly pressured by his opponent—struggled to respond effectively and was floored late in the round by a brutal right hook to the temple while trading at close range.
The third round saw total domination from Dedovic, who relentlessly applied pressure to wear down a visibly exhausted Rudi. Seeing their fighter in trouble, Rudi’s corner wisely decided to stop the contest before it turned into unnecessary punishment. Rudi stayed on his stool at the start of round four, giving Dedovic his second win in as many pro bouts.
Kuadio Gianni Ted Doria Yao defeats Nikola Ivkovic by points over six rounds
A solid and demanding test for the rising prospect Doria Yao, who earned a deserved victory but certainly didn’t have an easy night. The seasoned Ivkovic came to fight, determined to earn his purse the hard way and even tried to pull off the upset.
Doria Yao clearly impressed in the early rounds thanks to his superior speed and explosiveness. The fighter from Vicenza looked his best when he boxed smoothly, stayed composed, and picked short, clean angles inside. He was less convincing during the wilder exchanges, when he went hunting for a knockout in messy trades.
Ivkovic was rather careless in the final seconds of the third round, keeping his hands down after doing good work earlier, and he paid for it by absorbing several clean shots in quick succession. Doria Yao maintained control through the fourth, though he had to work hard for every round.
The home fighter showed some fatigue in the last two rounds, even losing a point for excessive clinching, while allowing Ivkovic to press forward aggressively. After the final bell, Ivkovic celebrated, convinced he had done enough—but the decision rightly went to Doria Yao, though by a narrow margin.
Michele Ogliari defeats Stefano Capone by TKO (Round 3)
No tactics, no waiting game—just pure heavy-handed action between two big punchers. Capone started the fight with fury, charging forward and forcing Ogliari to clinch several times to avoid serious trouble. But with fighters this powerful, one punch can change everything—and that’s exactly what happened.
A right hand to the temple from Ogliari completely stunned Capone, leaving him defenseless against the follow-up barrage before being saved by the bell. “The Shark” bravely tried to recover in the second round, but his tendency to attack recklessly without proper defense exposed him to heavy punishment.
After dominating the second frame from long range, Ogliari closed the show in round three. A sustained combination left Capone dazed and signaling distress by raising his arm to the referee. The towel came flying from his corner at almost the exact same moment as the referee’s stoppage.
A big night of joy for Michele Ogliari, who now boasts four knockouts in five professional bouts—clear proof of the danger carried by his punches.
