Jarrell Miller is ready to quash Andy Ruiz Jr.’s dreams. The two will clash this weekend at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, in an event headlined by Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov.
The former heavyweight champion of Mexican descent has recently stated that he feels in great shape and that, after about two years away from the ring, the fight against Miller will be his first step back on the road to a title shot. At least in his mind.
For his part, “Big Baby” is determined to reclaim the opportunity he missed in 2019 against Anthony Joshua when he was replaced by Ruiz due to a doping suspension. This chance led, albeit briefly, the Destroyer from Imperial to the top of the world thanks to his extraordinary performance which allowed him to deliver one of the greatest upsets in history.
“This fight is not personal, Andy replaced me a couple of years ago and got that big check and now I have to fuck him up. I’m going to turn his ass into burritos and nachos after this one,” Miller said, adding, “I feel great. I haven’t been eating like my man Andy here. I put down the tacos, burritos, the burgers and hard work baby. I come to win. I come to knock people out. I destroy people. He may be the ‘Destroyer’ but I’m the one who destroys people. Ready to work. This is the opportunity to get back what I’ve lost.”
Both fighters seem motivated and convinced they can do it, but as always, the definitive answer will be given by the ring next Saturday night.
