Since being knocked out by Mexican roots puncher Andy Ruiz Jr., Anthony Joshua has carried the reputation of heaving a weak chin. However, his promoter Eddie Hearn has a different view and shared his thoughts during an interview with Seconds Out Boxing:
“AJ has a really, really good chin. Watch the shots AJ took in the Wladimir Klitschko fight. The right hand that would’ve decapitated a normal man, AJ got up from. Even vs Andy Ruiz, he kept getting up. Oleksandr Usyk hit him with the kitchen sink and he never had him out. Look what happened to Tyson Fury, never saw AJ like that in that fight. AJ’s got a great chin.”
The next fight of the popular English heavyweight could provide further answers in this regard. On September 21st, Joshua will face his compatriot Daniel Dubois, who has the highest KO percentage among the high-ranking heavyweights (95.24%) and will certainly try to put AJ’s chin to the test.
