Abbes Mouhiidine and Salvatore Cavallaro turn professional

Two Italian boxers with impressive résumés are ready to make the big leap into the professional ranks. They are Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine and Salvatore Cavallaro, both long-time members of the Italian national team and both capable of winning numerous medals in some of the most prestigious international tournaments.

Mouhiidine, who will turn 27 next month, will begin his pro career in the cruiserweight division. As an amateur, beyond national borders, he won two silver medals at the World Championships, one gold at the European Championships, one gold at the European Games, one gold at the EU Championships, and two golds at the Mediterranean Games. Cavallaro, born in 1995, will aim to establish himself in the super middleweight division. His international amateur résumé includes a bronze medal at the World Championships, three bronzes at the European Championships, one silver and one bronze at the European Games, and one silver and one bronze at the Mediterranean Games.

The professional careers of the two fighters, who could make their debuts as early as next month, will be managed by promoter Davide Bianchi, who posted the following announcement on his Facebook profile:
